Open Standard helped this San Francisco client bring their whole-house vision to life. As a new build, it was essential to design mindfully from the ground up, bringing a modern aesthetic to life without being austere. The result is a minimalist oasis.
The kitchen was rigorously designed for ease of use, from food prep and entertaining, to storage and clean up. The classic fronts—which feature a semi-transparent grey-wash stain on oak veneers for subtle texture—are streamlined, but host a variety of depths and storage solutions within. A kitchen island offers more prep space and open shelving for the client’s ceramics and keepsakes.
The home’s bathrooms feature floating wood vanities to soften the modern spaces and add contrast to the glass and metal finishes, while the laundry room makes great use of functional and durable storage. Lastly, Open Standard created a feature wall in the home’s living space in the form of a slatted wood fireplace surround. The result is organic and modern, adding texture and visual appeal to the home’s primary living area.
